If shopping is a social event for you then Shop N Mingle is a ‘must-do’. The pop up shop is an annual event that gives shoppers a chance to nosh, network, and shop for new and unique items only found online or in specialty boutiques.
This year’s Shop N Mingle was sponsored by Metro PCS, Miss Jessie’s, Sugar Hill Ale, Pirate’s Booty, Vitamin Water, UPTOWN Magazine, and more. Invited bloggers were invited to get a sneak peek of the event on Saturday where we were treated to a light brunch provided by Dining with Grace and tea by Wellnista.
There were cupcake shots provided by Tonnie’s Minis, Sugar Hill Ale cocktails, and Pirate’s Booty to keep your energy up while you shopped and mingled in the colorful space jamming to tunes provided by a DJ spinning Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson, and Janelle Monet. An art installation, featuring up-and-coming artists, was being mounted in the spacious and open space upstairs. The show will open on Sunday.
We saw one of a kind designs by artists like Karen Brown (www.etsy.com/hop/idyllic4u), Ka Devereux Exotic Couture, Danida, and San Jules, as well as knitted and croqueted accessories created by Konjo Crochet and Tahajo. There was jewelry by K Fleye, Michael Jackson tee shirts by Afrodelik Designs, and beauty products by Imena and Sanctuaire. We actually wound up buying a shea butter based body butter and the Moroccan inspired light fixtures by On The Road To Marrakech were amazing!
