Black Atlas preview of Red Rooster

Black Atlas and American Airlines teamed up to host a sneak preview and private dinner at Red Rooster last night.  Winners of the Black Atlas scavenger hunt, as well as invited guests were treated to dinner and cocktails at what is turning out to be the hottest new restaurant in Harlem.

The upstairs interior is styled in a homey, yet sophisticated blend of country store meets upscale restaurant.

The specialty drink of the night was The Savoy – a vodka based, citrusy mix sweetened with agave. Wine was provided by Heritage Link Brands.

A lively press event took place in the downstairs lounge where legendary actress Cicely Tyson captivated the room in a stylish houndstooth ensemble. Later in the evening, blossoming songstress Chrisette Michele arrived wearing a low cut, midnight blue, sleeveless dress accented with red heels.  A sketch artist, Orin, was on hand to sketch attendees.

Dinner guests were treated to crab cakes Fried Yard Bird. roasted salmon, herbed couscous, smoked collard greens, mac and greens (no, that is NOT a typo) and an assortment of desserts.

Red Rooster is located at 310 Lenox Avenue, between 125th and 126th Street.

The restaurant is expected to be opened to the public “sometime after Thanksgiving.”

  1. why is American Airlines involved with this restaurant? just more useless PR and less actual doing/serving/cooking AGAIN by this guy? talk about a phony. why doesn’t he just open his restaurant and let his cooking skills speak for themselves?
