Adina Nyree: Certified Organic

Recently this press release popped up in my Inbox and I knew I wanted to share it with you. Adina Nyree is one talented sista and you will not want to miss this event. Now, I recognize that I’m posting last-minute but there are two reasons for that: 1. I was on vacation in North Carolina and accidentally forgot my brain here and 2. attention spans aren’t what they used to be; it makes more sense to tell you as close as possible to the date of the event so it’s fresh on your mind. Yeah, that second excuse is a good one. Let’s go with it.

But seriously folks, Adina Nyree blends jazz, soul and spoken word so effortlessly that you forget that no one else is doing it quite like she does. Nyree takes the stage like a seasoned pro and works the audience like they are old friends she invited over for a private concert. With a natural knack for storytelling, she slips between song and poem with ease of a race car driver shifting lanes. Nyree’s debut album, Certified Organic is exactly what it sounds like it should be: a natural expression of really good music, lyrics and delivery. If you are in Harlem on Friday night, you should be at the event. All of the details are after the jump.
