Ndunga Public Art Project

Walking past the State Building, you might has noticed a strange structure that appears to be a greenhouse of sorts, tucked back towards the murals on the walls of H&M. Curiousity lead us over to discover an interesting piece of public art called Ndunga. The art was inspired by the Congolese masquerade tradition of Africa. The face is a blend of Harriet Tubman and Malcolm X.

The project is in conjunction with the Harlem Arts Alliance. To learn more visit: www.ndungaworldhealing.org

  1. There was a Procession from Riverside Church with the Ndunga to the ACP building last year. If I remember correctly everyone wore White.
