Last Thursday was the soft opening of the newest gem on Frederick Douglass Boulevard (8th Ave.) 5 & Diamond is the brainchild of Chef Ryan Skeen who is bringing a blend of American-Mediterrean to the Harlem food scene. At first glance it might seem that this is just another downtown chef making his mark uptown, but Skeen’s partners plan to offer cooking classes and other projects that promote community activism, according to The Village Voice.
The 5 & Diamond will open with limited hours for the next couple of weeks after which it will begin regular service.
