SMART MEN GET CHECKED ANNUALLY
Because prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in African American men and the third leading cause of cancer death among Hispanic men, Mount Sinai Hospital and Settlement Health will sponsor East Harlem/El Barrio Prostate Cancer Awareness Day, Thursday, September 20th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, 212 East 106th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues). Physicians from the Deane Prostate Center at Mount Sinai will provide free prostate cancer screenings and health information.
Simon J. Hall, MD, Director of the Deane Prostate Center and Chairman of Mount Sinai’s Department of Urology, said, “Men need to know that when prostate cancer is detected early, it can be cured. The PSA test is fast, painless and a man’s best line of defense against prostate cancer. Smart men get checked annually.”
