Despite a snowstorm that left about a foot of snow blanketing Harlem, dedicated fans ventured out to Amateur Night at the Apollo to see the legendary Stephanie Mills. Mills is no stranger to the Apollo. At the age of 11, it was Stephanie’s big voice that landed her in first place at Amateur Night at the Apollo for a record six times! At the age of fifteen, Mills took on the role of Dorothy in the Broadway musical The Wiz, which later led to an illustrious recording career.
Mills performed her popular classics, “Never Knew Love Like This Before” and “Home” bringing the Apollo crowd to their feet.
