Sharon Nelson delivered a healthy baby boy after surviving breast cancer
Sharon Nelson, a 42 year old breast cancer survivor was able to conceive and deliver a bouncing baby boy after receiving chemo to treat her stage one cancer. In addition to her miracle baby, she won a contest for a new nursery by writing an essay that told her amazing story of survival. “As an older first-time mother my son is the light of my life and I am grateful. We live in a small apartment in Harlem, NY and I would love a nursery with a nautical theme as he was named after the famous Admiral Nelson.”

Hey Mr. Bell,
Thanks for your acknowledgment and validation. It is amazing how a diagnosis can really change a person’s outlook on life. I am glad you shared my story with the uptown community. We have the Ralph Lauren Cancer Center and many other places for people with cancer to receive support. If there are questions out there about the recovery process we should all be encouraged to share what we know. That is the sure way to finding a cure.
