Two nonprofit arts groups, the National Jazz Museum in Harlem and ImageNation, which supports independent cinema and progressive music, were selected on Monday to be part of the proposed Mart 125 redevelopment project, which would transform a centrally located but presently abandoned eyesore on Harlem’s main commercial thoroughfare into a mixed-use space.

narmer, do you have an issue with these organizations being in the space? I think Victoria is being held for a visitors center and Bill T. Jones dance company as well as a few other organizations that have been waiting in line. Harlem is full of culture and everyone wants to be down on 125th where the tourist hub is located.

Did anyone hear the News and Views radio show and their discussion of the Victoria Theater Project on Sunday, this announcement about 125 Mart seems like a payoff to these two organizations to back away from the Victoria project.
What agency approved these two organizations for this project?
