Triple Candie is pleased to announce its re-opening.
On view through April 5:
Almost Baroque
An analysis of nine floral “paintings” from El Mundo
This exhibition consists of commercially printed Baroque and Rococo still-life “paintings” purchased from our local El Mundo discount department store. El Mundo sells these works as unauthored, untitled, and undated. Using stylist analysis, we have identified the historic sources (Bosschaert school, Jan van Huysum, Jean-Baptiste Robie, others) of these modern-day pastiches.
Hours:
Triple Candie is open Thursday through Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Directions:
Triple Candie is now located at 500 West 148th Street, just west of Amsterdam Avenue. Take the A, B, C, D, or 1 train to 145th Street. Walk 3 blocks north to 148th Street. If traveling from the A, B, C, or D train, walk two blocks west. If traveling from the 1 train, walk ¾ blocks east.
