Hi Everyone:
I’m just doing a quicky post. I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to the site as I’ve had real life biting at my heels lately. I did want to quickly share some neighborhood information with you.
- Subway Sandwiches sign went up in the space formerly occupied by Sugarhill Java on 145th Street. I was really, really, really hoping those rumors were untrue. Sugarhill had such a gorgeous space.
- Atomic Wings is now open for business according to the folks over at HarlemCondoLife
. They won’t officially be opened until tomorrow (Thursday) and we plan to be there to give you a first look.
- There is a new-ish (to me) pizza place on Frederick Douglass (8th Avenue to the old schoolers) that makes a pretty decent slice! Much better than the place up the block that closed a couple of years ago. It is tucked in next to the liquor store and across from the Drew Hamilton Houses so you might not have noticed it if you live or work in the area. They also deliver and offer school discounts for you hard working Harlem teachers. A small regular pie is $11.50 and a large is $12.50. Slices are $2.50. They have a full menu of sandwiches, pasta, burgers, and pizza. The place is pretty clean and has seating in the back.
