Cocktail Etiquette Guide

As the holiday season kicks into full gear, you might find yourself freely imbibing at social functions involving open bars. Below Bombay Sapphire’s® master mixologistjrdn_holiday_cocktails offers some commonsense tips for making sure that your night of fun stays on the up and up.

Cocktail etiquette

• Never drink a cocktail too fast

• Never have too many cocktails

• Always have a glass of water in between drinks

• Stay within one liquor category throughout the evening (i.e. white spirits, brown spirits, wine or beer) – never mix!

• Never, ever have more than two gin martinis – that third martini will have you crossing a line that there’s no turning back from!

• Make sure your host doesn’t overfill your martini glass, because half of it will end up on your shirt

• When removing garnishes and stirrers from your drink make sure that you ace them on the napkin

• Always be polite to the host
