There seems to be a lot of moving around with all of the the rezoning and expansion projects in Harlem. I was rushing around on Monday and saw that Manna will be relocating half a block over.  I wanted to stop and snap a picture, but I was late for an appointment.  Fortunately, Dave from Eating in Translation took the picture and Paolo from NYC The Blog posted it.

Also on the move is Dinosaur BBQ. Since Dinosaur falls into the Columbia expansion zone, the building is slated for demolition.   According to City Room:

This month, Mr. Stage said he and the university came to an agreement to move Dinosaur to a former warehouse building owned by Columbia on the northwest corner of 12th Avenue and 125th Street. Because of a quirk in the way the streets run in the area, 125th Street is only about a block from 131st Street.

“You could hit it with a rock from the existing Dinosaur,” Mr. Stage said. “It’s raw, beautiful, another old meatpacking house. It’s a funky building for sure and, as normal, we have a lot of work to do.”

It will cost about $2 million to renovate, and the lease is for 20 years. Mr. Stage declined to say whether or not Columbia was helping defray the renovation costs. He said the new location is 100 square feet larger than the current one and is near a proposed entrance to the new Harlem Piers park.

The plan, he said, is to have no down time, with the old Dinosaur closing one night in the fall of 2009 and the new one opening the next day with all the staff members moving the one block south.

“The plan is to be seamless,” he said.
