Hmmm? Nice blog of NYC history, but in her piece on Harlem, She, along with many others, never include who or what people accompanied the Dutch when they arrived Uptown to what is now Harlem. That is, who were the folks who truly did the work of developing the land? Who clear the land?
Moon Men? Dutch Men.
As I have come to understand folks are attempting have an African burial ground in the area of the new car dealerships declared land mark status. It purportedly dates back to that era.
To look at comtemporary history, you’d think we just arrived to Harlem in the 1920s or so.
