Imagenation Trailer

Imagenation is the organization that brings you free outdoor film and music concerts around Harlem. I’ve actually been trailing them since the early days – the late 90s to early ’00s. Back then, Gregory would sponsor poetry events hosted by Eucalyptus Entertainment at the Astor Place Starbucks, and Moikgantsi would have film screenings for independent filmmakers.

Gregory and Moikgantsi been around for a while. You’ve probably seen then around the neighborhood, at the local grocery store, etc. They have big plans for making art house cinema accessible to all Harlem residents. Because of their vision and their dedication to serving the community, I’ve made a donation towards helping them build what will hopefully be the first of many venues that tell the stories that are often passed over. The Soul Cinema is scheduled to open next year in a custom designed space inside the Kalahari Condos. To help out with this effort you too can contribute to the cause by visiting their website at www.imagenation.us
