Inwood Park. You can find out more about the Inwood situation by checking out the WaHi Forums and Inwoodite.

Thank you! Since May 24th the Marcus Garvey Park Drummers now occupy an officially designated “Drummers Circle” directly opposite two large moderate income buildings (“HDFCs”). Most of us are tormented by the noise during 9-10 hours every Saturday . I am elderly and must drag myself from my air-conditioned apartment to public space in another neighborhood even in extreme heat and via our miserable transportation system. Others must stay home with their families or visit relatives in distant suburbs. This is not about race. It is about class – and about selfish, ignorant people. It is interesting that recent (July) internet debates – e.g. on “UPTOWN FLAVOR – refer to the former location of the drummers as if it were current, making it clear that they have no experience of the reality. As for knee-jerk liberals who buy into ethnic and racial diversity arguments, they should know that they are the mainstay of the present power structure, including the racial divide.

The double standard needs to end. The law enforcement needs to stop ignoring people who disobey the law because they are of a different race. Enough already. No loud music, no littering or you will get fined. It is BS that the NYPD bends the rules in these communities. I encourage everyone to call 311 and 911 as many times as possible in order to help turn their neighborhoods around.
