More than 1,000 new Police recruits filled the Apollo Theater on Monday. But they weren’t there to provide
crowd control for a concert event or the popular Amateur Night. The recruits were the audience participating in a four-day program on “advancing community trust.”
The program, the second since Sean Bell’s murder, will address issues like the department’s controversial stop-and-frisk policy, and include workshops on diversity.
