A two day conference
BECOMING THE PROMISED LAND will explore the biblical and theological foundations and contexts for work with and among the prison reentry population. It will consider ways in which the church and church-related institutions, as well as other communities and organizations, can and do work with formerly incarcerated women and men to bring about God’s healing and wholeness.
Keynote speakers include: Rita Nakashima Brock, James Forbes, Ed Hunt, C. Vernon Mason, Julio Medina, Donald Shriver, Renita Weems and Alfonso Wyatt

interesting, hadn’t heard about this, our org. just hosted a family day for loved ones of the incarcerated. Interesting panel of formerly incarcerated folks and their families telling it like it is.
It’s the 35th anniversary of the Rockefeller Drug Laws and Parole as we know it, or have heard about, is about to change so we all need to talk about how we help reform our brothers and sisters as well as reform our communities.
