Hamilton Grange Monument Meeting

Important Meeting Scheduled Thursday, May 15th at 4:00 pm

The Hamilton Grange National Monument, designed by John McComb, Jr. 1801-02, will be moved from its current site at 287 Convent @ W. 141st Street, on June 7th. This will be the second move for this historic structure–the first was in the 1880s from Convent Avenue and 143rd Street. Following below is a press release from the National Parks Service outlining the move schedule, street closings, and traffic pattern for the duration.

There will also be a meeting with Commissioner Burks, Darren Boch

Public Affairs Officer National Parks of New York Harbor and Steve Spaulding, chief, NPS northeast architectural preservation division,

on-hand to review site plans and explain the orientation decision. The

meeting is set for 4:00 pm, this Thursday, 4/15, at CCNY, Administration Bldg, Room 201(Provost Conference Room) 2nd floor, Wille Administration Building – enter on Convent Ave @ 138th street.
