- Heart disease

- Stroke
- Nerve damage
- Eye problems and blindness
- Kidney disease
- Early death
- Things You Can Do to Stay Healthy
- Taking Your Medicine
How Your Doctor Can Help You Stay Healthy:
- Know and Control Your ‘ABCS’
- A1C (3-month blood sugar level): Less than 7%
- Blood pressure: Less than 130/80
- Cholesterol: LDL (”bad”) cholesterol less than 100
- Smoking: If you smoke, quit now
