“protect big box takeover”? Harlemites have been waiting for years from relief froms these non-sense “mom & pop” merchants. Marshalls has been a God-send. Starbucks decent coffee. I lived in Harlem before there was a decent drug store, not one Duane Reade or CVS, they’re heavenly to have here now.
The electronics stores on 125th have always been a joke selling remanufactured and second rate crap. A Best Buy or Circuit City would be great!
Wanna bet the person complaining about the chains coming to Harlem shops at Duane Reade or CVS? Should we roll back to the days when there was not a single Duane Reade or CVS? It was only 10 years ago or so….
C’mon Harlem, we deserve all the commercial options that 14th St. enjoys.
