Join Def Dance Jam Workshop for an interactive, spirit filled event that celebrates life, challenge and different-abilities. Prepare to praise, learn how to sign to your favorite songs, and just have a good time. Def Dance Jam Workshop is an inter-generational dance company that brings together youth and adults who are deaf, hard of hearing, hearing, physically or developmentally challenged through artistic projects that strengthen the relationship between each of these communities. DDJW has been featured on Sesame Street and Zoom showcasing their engaging Sign language dance numbers.

Join RON MCBEE in an interactive performance of African rhythms. Explore the percussion traditions of the African Diaspora. Connect with this world class percussionist as he moves through each rhythm – from hambone, spoons and washboard playing to drumming styles of the Caribbean and South America. Also, join us for a pre-workshop session at 2PM – “Making African Hand Instruments” All will leave with a hand instrument, made with simple household materials. *Complimentary Admission for Friends of Community Works, New Heritage Theatre Group and The Harlem Arts Alliance A donation is always appreciated; please stop by the Front Desk for your admission.
