Why is it ok for white business owners to market their high dollar items to the black community in order to do what all business owners want to do, which is turn a profit? But , when someone of color does it we are quick to judge and put them down. We are all in different places in our lives at all times along our journery. If your place won’t accomodate a $500 dollar pair of shoes, browse around, give the girl kudos for at least having the guts to try to make her dream come true, and keep on steppin’. When your change comes, drop by again and enoy a nice expensive pair of shoes; I can assure you, your feet will love you!

Hi while I know nothing about this young lady’s personality as some of you have written about here. I wish her all the best with her new business venture. Surely it’s a step in the right direction of making HER dream come to reality. Personally I admit rent comes first along with my other priorities. Certainly paying almost $500 for a flat sandal. Isn’t within my budget at all and I am proud to admit that.
For those whom can afford it and if the celebs are going to help keep her doors open in the struggling area of Harlem God bless her. She was on the Wendy Williams show last week showing quite a few of her shoes. Because Wendy is considered a status quo Wendy was given a very expensive pair of heels. As was a woman whom Wendy chose to get a FREE pair of shoes. Can we say great marketing strategy? I guess so Hopefully as she climbs her ladder to success she will give something back to the community that skipped their bills to support her. May God bless her and her family.

Congraulations on your new business. I wish you nothing but the best of success. You are a true inspiration to all young and up coming entrepenuers, be they of color or not. Your parents did a superb job on motivating and helping you to stay focused and keeping your eye on the prize. You go Mom & Dad. Keep on stepping on the high ground fine lady and more of your dreams will be revealed. You are one sparrow that I will have my eye on. Looking so forward to stopping by for a visit at your lovely shop. Contined blessings to you and your staff always.

To My Beloved Daughter,
I don’t think you can imagine how proud I am to be your mother. You have always been a shining star to your family and all who have been blessed to have you grace them with your presence. Just the mere presence of your smile lights up a room, but more important is how at a very early age you decided that you wanted to make a difference, a mark in life, something that every young woman could say, that could be me. And yes my sweet daughter you have done just that. I want you to know how proud I am of you and how much your father and I love you.
Remember keep sight of your dream and let nothing stand in your way.
Love,
Mommy

Are you commenters suggesting that because the proprieter of this business is black, that she should not sell a high- end product? What ever happened to just plain old saying; “congratulations, hope all goes well for you.” ?

Did you see what that description of her Grand Opening said?…”A-Listers!”..Boo-Boo she did not have time for folx like us who just wanted to..”look around”…okaaay?…I don’t care if I won the State Lotto…my feet will always WONDER what it would be like to wear a thousand dollar pair of shoes…..what kind of investment is that?…nope. But to the women who find enjoyment in that…HEY! More Love, AND power!..That’s 6 months grocery easy for me and my family… stomach growlin but they look good huh?…how many hard working black folx you think gonna be going up in there?…”Quality shoes within their budget”.Black people that are homeowners for the first time, with teenagers and small children, would love to support her but her ad is not being realistic, How will a wife of that situation be able to support her?……I think she’s speaking of the young black people in the industry, you know the ones that HAVE to be “SEEN” in name brand shoes!
Models..Actors,etc. I wish her luck tho because small business owners have a very small chance of making it,without a franchise foundation.(and then location plays to that factor). So time will tell!
