The 2007 Harlem International Film Festival Opening Night screening — October 18th, 2007 — will be sponsored by New York University’s Tisch School of the arts at Cantor Film Center and is free to the public. The festival continues downtown at the Millennium theater and the New York Film Academy. Uptown venues include the Casa Frela Gallery and the Schomburg Center, which will be the site of the 3rd Annual Renaissance Awards honoring gifted actor, Roger Guenveur Smith and pioneering film and TV director/producer, Neema Barnett.
