The Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University and the Office of the President proudly announces the Columbia/Harlem Festival of Global Jazz, to be held on campus and at venues throughout Harlem from Wednesday, September 19 through Sunday, September 29, 2007. The Festival brings together leading improvisors, composers, journalists, and scholars from more than sixteen countries for ten days of performances, conferences, symposia, film screenings, and technology-based community events, all open to the public. To present this series of events, the Center for Jazz Studies is partnering with the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone and Jazzmobile, Inc.
