Enjoy the Weekend!

Mayotic posted this photo in the Flickr pool. I thought it was a good entry into Fall and a funny goodbye to Summer. These are Mayotic’s notes:

I’ve seen this in old photos and old movies but this is the first time that I’ve seen it in person. When it’s hot and you don’t have air conditioning or if you just want to be outside a little longer this is what you can do. I think it must have been quite nice to be out there watching traffic and people walk by while you drifted off to sleep. He was struggling with the mattress, trying to get it through the window — guess it was easy to push through to the outside but not so easy pushing through to the inside. So I don’t think this is something that he does very often or he would have been gone by the time I was directly across the street from him and had gotten my camera out. This was taken a little after noon and I really liked the way the fire escape was casting shadows.
