“Blue Oneness of Dreams” has been a favorite for over 10 years now. When I moved to W.Harlem it was the first thing I put in the CD player as the sun set over my new neighborhood. Sekou Sundiata’s work was an inspiration for everyone trying to interpret the world around them.
I saw Sekou Sundiata perform only three times, yet he left such an impression on me that I wanted to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I got the chance to see him read from “blessing the boats” (i hope that is right) and I was absolutely blown away by the power of his work. He made an important contribution to the arts, and to Harlem, and I was truly sad to hear that his battle with his illness was over.
Blessings to you all.
