Raise your hand if you know that there is a Museum of African American Cinema. Okay, you can put your hand down. Now raise your hand if you know that it is located in Harlem.

That’s right, there is Museum of African American Cinema that is temporary located in the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building. Back in 2005, Gov. George Pataki signed a bill that would provide financing for the construction and development of the Museum of African American Cinema in Harlem. Proceeds from the sale of items sold this Saturday will go toward building a permanent home for the museum.

This Saturday, over 5,000 rare and hard-to-find videos and dvds for sale. Cabin in the Sky, Stormy Weather, Pinky and other classics as well as indies like Sankofa and Through the Door of No Return will be among the selection available.
