FREE LESSONS IN CITY PARKS
CityParks Tennis features free lessons for children ages 5 to 16 from July 2nd through August 14th in 37 parks throughout the five boroughs.
There are three levels of instruction to meet the needs of all players: Pee Wee (ages 5-7); Beginner (ages 8 and up); and Intermediate (determined by ability). Registration takes place in each park while the program is in session.
Each summer concludes with a tournament held at the Central Park Tennis Center for beginners and Flushing Meadow Park for intermediates as part of The JPMorgan Chase Aces Tournament.
For a listing of all programs involved in CityParks Tennis, please click here.
Registration for the beginner programs take place at each park any time while the lessons are in session. All you have to do is show up at the park on any given day! The 2007 programs run from July 2 through August 14, 2007. Start dates at each park site varies according to which days of the week lessons are given there. So please make note of the start date at your park. Lessons are approximately one-hour in length.
Some sites fill up faster than others and due to a limited class size, registration is always on a first come first served basis.
