A car jumped a sidewalk and smashed into the front of a fried-chicken restaurant on Monday, injuring six people, including four wh
o were eating dinner inside.
The driver and a passenger in the sedan were hurt when it smashed through the bricks and windows of the Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits fast-food restaurant around 5:30 p.m., police said. All six were taken to a hospital, where they were in stable condition.
Police closed the Harlem restaurant for the rest of the day and pulled the sedan from the building’s facade. They said the driver had been unable to stop the car before it crashed.
No arrests were immediately made.
