Eat Out Awards
Posted on February 28, 2007 by D. Bell

As usual, less than a handful of Harlem restaurants are in the running for the Eat Out Awards, but added to the roster this year are a couple of newcomers. Pier 2110 is up in the category of best new seafood restaurant and Rack & Soul for best barbecue. Rao’s is listed under the best restaurant you can’t get into.
If you feel inspired, vote for your favorite.

Pier 2110, the Manna’s Korean folks. Rao’s the Mob, and Rack & Soul-Micheal Eberstadt, first class prick, got his money from the Harlem Economic Empowerment Zone to start Slice of Harlem and Bayou, a Jewish Boy knows how to use Harlem ear-marked resources!
Anyone Black like Carl of Amy Ruth’s, etc. nominated? Or are the Harlem Candidates all non-Black owned places? Cracks me up how folks think the best BBQ in Harlem is Dinosaur…more white folks.
Let’s be honest, Rao’s and Rack & Soul are barely in Harlem. Hey, it’s not a Black, thing…that little Italian joint on 119th and 5th is great (ran by Italians, the real deal).
Wouldn’t it be cool if an actual BLACK owned joint in Harlem like Creole made the cut? Truth? It’s about who’s got the best PR resources and team, not the best food.
you say it’s not a black thing but have a problem with the korean folks who own 2110?
welcome to NYC—it’s ALWAYS about who’s got the best PR. sadly that’s not just a harlem thing.
Love Manna’s soul food, don’t care what color the owner is.
