Hugo,
Curbed attracts the extremist angry persons with inflammatory opinions, I do not think most people are so hateful. But it is important to have a place where we can say what we feel without moderation.
One of the great parts of this nation is our 1st amendment, curbed for better or worse supports freedom of speech.

i for one am glad that a place like curbed exists. it makes me get an honest gauge of the great gap there still is racially (economic racism and ethnic racism). it also reminds me that while everyone tries to be race neutral in person what’s really in the heart of many is completely different. it’s just sad that our neighborhoods are just collateral damage of the hidden racial wars that exist.

yeah… seems to me the folks who would not want to live in a mixed-income area are not the type needed to make a real contribution the rebuilding of the Harlem community (not just ‘SoHa’ real estate investment phenomenon, is successful in the long-term. I’m sure there are plenty people who can afford the higher-cost units that will buy into it without the same reservations and in fact embrace the mixed-income model.

to be fair, a lot of people on that curbed thread are defending the mixed income set up. there’s just a bunch of idiots who are constantly trolling curbed looking to start trouble anywhere they can. i think the general concensus is that it’s a good thing. at least i hope that it is.
