Sweet Tooth: T&J Revisted

I recently revisted T&J Bakery located near the historic Dunbar Apartments. The first time I visited T&J I tried the Red Velvet Cake. It was a bit dry and the frosting was too sugary. It was not nearly as good as the offerings at Make My Cake, who in my opinion have the best Red Velvet Cake in Harlem.

This time I decided to try something different. I tried the Sweet Potato Cheesecake and the Banana Cream Tart. I must say that both treats were wonderful! The Cheesecake was rich and creamy, as it should be, and the tart was light and fresh.

The space in the cafe is open and airy. The walls are decorated with artwork painted by local artists, including Stacey-Robin H. Johnson. Pop in one day and be sure to mention that UPTOWN flavor sent you.
